18 - Quiet Riot - The Randy Rhoads Years (1993)

 É com o maior orgulho e respeito que posto esse play aqui, como vocês podem ver a estrela do post não é a banda Quiet Riot, e sim seu guitarrista que tanto impressionou o mundo com sua técnica, seu feeling, sua pegada, seu estilo, seus riffs, sua pessoa e principalmente seus solos. Randall William Rhoads, mais conhecido como Randy Rhoads.

Nascido em 6 de Dezembro de 1956 em Santa Mônica, Estados Unidos. Randy nasceu em família de músicos, e se iniciou no mundo das 6 cordas com uma herança de seu avô, um antigo violão Gibson, aos 7 anos ganhou sua primeira guitarra, uma Harmony semi-acústica. Até então o estilo de Randy era mais puxado para a música erudita, até chegar o dia em que seu irmão o levou para um concerto de Rock do Alice Cooper, lá Randy teve a inspiração e almejou seu sonho, ser um guitarrista de Rock.

Aos 13 anos já havia formado banda pra tocar e aos 15 já dava aulas de música na escola de sua mãe, ele era muito querido por seu talento e carisma, desde então já tinha um grande público fã de seu trabalho. Em 1973 sua carreira se iniciou forte quando entrou no Quiet Riot, desde essa época ele já usava sua Flying V preta de bolinhas brancas.

Randy participou de apenas 2 álbuns do Quiet Riot. Após isso Ozzy Osbourne, que havia saído do Black Sabbath, esteve realizando testes em Los Angeles para escolher o guitarrista de sua carreira solo, Ozzy não queria um guitarrista comum ao seu lado, queria realmente um louco, um mestre, então após vários guitarristas, Ozzy já estava sem esperanças e entediado, mas faltava um, então chegou a vez de Randy. E lá foi ele, ligou sua guitarra no amplificador e começou a afinar a guitarra e fazer o aquecimento antes de tocar, Ozzy ficou de queixo caído e viu que encontrou o cara certo e com estilo próprio, sem Randy mostrar seu 100% já foi aprovado por Ozzy e assim se tornou o guitarrista da banda.

 Então, Randy e Ozzy gravaram 'Blizzard of Ozz' e 'Diary Of a Madman'. Rhoads assim se tornou conhecido mundialmente e espantou o público com suas altas performances na guitarra, na minha opinião ele foi o único guitarrista da época a bater de frente com Eddie Van Halen, se tratando de guitarra, enfim. Em 1982 acontece a fatalidade, o avião onde Randy viajava havia se chocado com um Hangar, e foi fatal, aos 25 anos, no auge de sua carreira e na flor da juventude morre o guitarrista mais promissor do Heavy Metal, infelizmente foi o último dia da vida de Randy Rhoads.

Mesmo após tantos anos, seu trabalho é respeitado e reconhecido, Randy possui homenagens, tributos, uma legião de fãs, admiradores e ainda influencia milhões de pessoas no mundo a pegar a guitarra e tocar seus riffs. 

Nessa homenagem do Quiet Riot a Randy Rhoads, contém músicas dos anos em que Randy participou da banda, e não tem nem como eu apontar uma preferida, pois todas são sem comentários. Desde então, ouvindo essas músicas, já se notava a qualidade no som que Rhoads tirava, seus riffs cheios de inspiração, tocados na hora certa e sobre os acordes que valorizariam mais ainda a música, fora os solos que nem preciso dizer que são pra agitar até ficar com torcicolo, aí  Randy já começava a mostrar seu poder ao mundo. Após sua morte, o Quiet Riot criou uma música inspirada em Randy, chama-se 'Thunderbird'', não tem nesse álbum, mas procurem escutar, é emocionante ! Bem... agora é com vocês!
