21 - Night Ranger - Midnight Madness (1983)

Pra quem não sabe, o guitarrista do Ozzy no 'Speak of the Devil' é Brad Gillis, do Night Ranger.

'Passion Play', 'You can Still Rock in America' e 'When you close your eyes' são maravilhas criadas por deuses!

Night Ranger - Passion Play (Live 1983)

1 - (You can still) Rock in America

Little Sister by the record machine
A tiny dancer such a sweet sixteen
She's goin' out she's gonna party tonight
She's gonna shake and make it last all night

Little brother's got a drivin' machine
A fast driver such a clean machine
They're going out they're gonna put out the lights
They gonna rock it rock it rock it

You can still rock in America
Ah yeah s'alright
You can still rock in America
Ah yeah all night
You can still rock in America

Little sister makes a move for the door
The door squeaks she's on the second floor
Her daddy wakes "Is everything OK?"
Not a sound as she makes her getaway

Little brother's got it ready to roll
Tires burning as they head for the show
Light it up and turn the music up loud
And Rock it rock it rock it

You can still rock in America
Ah yeah s'alright
You can still rock in America
Ah yeah all night
You can still rock in America

Rock In America (you can still)
Rock In America (rock in America)
Rock In America (Yeah you can still)
Rock In America

You can still rock in America
Ah yeah s'alright
You can still rock in America
Ah yeah all night
You can still rock in America
You can still rock in America
Well you can still rock in America

2 - Rumors in the Air

Used to call me
By my first name
Now you never even call me at all
Used to say
I was your only flame
It was so simple
I believed it all

Now I hear
You've got a new friend and lover
Who keeps you warm
On the cool cool nights
There's a rumor in the air
Don't seem right

Rumours in the air
Like a thief in the night
Taking more than their share
Taking more than their right
Rumors in the air
Like a thief in the night
Rumours
Rumors in the air

Used to call me
When you felt the pain
Now you never even feel it at all
Used to swear
That we would never change
And like a fool
I believed it all

Now you say
You had a weekend of trouble
As you stare me down
With those cool cool eyes
There's a rumor in the air
Don't seem right

Used to call me
By my first name
Now you never even call me at all
Now you say
That I'm the one to blame
Doesn't matter
How I feel at all

Well I hear
You've got a new friend and lover
You'll take him down
It's so plain to see
Well there's a rumor in the air
Killing me

3 - Why Does Love Have To Change

The old words
Don't mean the same anymore
Time makes the change
As the faces begin to age

Through the eyes
Things look different than before
Spark and the flame
It'll never be the same
Never be the same

Why does love have to change (x3)
Oh...

The old place
Don't seem the same anymore
Yesterday's dreams
Lie discarded on the bedroom floor

In the heart
Will the pain go away
Time heals the wounds
But the scars seem to always stay
To haunt you another day

It's a hard way to go
Should'a left when my feelings showed
You had a hold on my soul
Oh no more
It's the end of your reign
I still think it's strange
Why does love have to change

4 - Sister Christian

Sister Christian, oh the time has come
And you know that you're the only one to say, OK
Where you goin', what you looking for
You know those boys don't want to play no more with you
It's true

You're motoring
What's your price for flight
In finding Mister Right
You'll be all right tonight

Babe, you know you're growing up so fast
And momma's worrying that you won't last to say, let's play
Sister Christian, there's so much in life
Don't you give it up before your time is due
It's true, it's true, yeah

You're motoring
What's your price for flight
You've got him in your sights
And driving through the night

Sister Christian, oh the time has come
And you know that you're the only one to say, OK
But you're motoring
Yeah, motoring

5 - Touch of Madness

She wakes in the morning
Got a smile on her face
She's not sentimental
About her night's embrace
Another lucky day
Lucky night on the town
Man she got the touch
I say she wears the crown
She say
"I get high when I want to
Don't ya think you need it too"

I need a touch, I need a touch of madness (x2)

She changes by night
It's a crime in the street
She dazzles the boys
As she moves though the heat
Set out all alone
On a hot summer night
Man she got the touch
She makes you sweat all night
She say
"I get wild when I want to
Madness is the thing to do"

I wake in the morning
With a smile on my face
Never sentimental
About my night's embrace
Another lucky day
Lucky night on the town
Now I got the touch
Now I make the rounds
I say
"I get off when I want to
Don't you want to feel it too"

6 - Passion Play

In a backstreet bar
On the south side of town
Where the music never stops
And the sun never hangs around
Never hangs around
Yeah two lovers meet
And their eyes feel the heat
Well they're moving to the sound
And their feet never touch the ground
Never touch the ground

Passion play
It's a game to take your breath away
Passion play
It's a game to take your breath away
Passion play

She feels kinda shy
As she turns on the make
She's got the inside moves
Always gets what she means to take
And she takes a taste
Well it feels kinda loose
As she ties the noose
He's got the front runner on him
And nothing but his luck to lose
And that's a lot to lose

Works up a sweat
And it's all for effect
As she takes another drag
Off her cigarette
He'll never really know
Her feelings never show
She's cut him down to size
With the fire in her eyes
Nowhere to run
Nothing to say
Is there any other way
Than to call it on a passion play

In a backstreet bar
On the south side of town
Where the music never stops
And the sun never hangs around
Never hangs around
Yeah two lovers die
As the passion hits their eyes
Moving to the sound
And their feet never touch the ground
Never touch the ground yeah

7 - When You Close Your Eyes

What do you do
When it's falling apart
And you knew it was gone
From the very start
Do you close your eyes
And dream about me

A girl in love
With a gleam in your eye
I was a younger boy
All dressed in white
We're older now
I bet you still think about me

I remember
We learned about love
In the back of a Chevrolet
Well it felt so good to be young
It feels like yesterday

When you close your eyes, do you dream about me ? (x2)

I guess I don't know
What I'm thinking
Coming off
A hard night of drinking
Angie come closer to me
I need a soul to bleed on

It could been done
In a different kinda way
But that ain't you
You play tough when you play
It's over now
I bet you still think about me

I remember
I held you so tight
And we danced the night away
With the moves
Of two wide eyed kids
I need you so much today

I remember
We learned about love
In the back of a Chevrolet
No good for an old memory
To mean so much today

8 - Chipping Away

Come over late
Got your hands on my fate
Candy don't you see what you're doing
Oh I lie awake
Another night put to waste
It's a shame
You got me comin' and goin'
Oh it's a price I gotta pay
To spend a night at heaven's gate

Chipping away
At my heart every day
You got me
Hanging by my window
Chipping away
At my heart every day
You got me
Hanging by my window

Well I'm holding my breath
Hoping you'll put 'em to rest
All the stories
About you notching your bedpost
And it rings true to me
There's a notch on there for me
Ain't I better
Than your cut rate Romeo's?
Well I'm a fool for your company
I know you're loving
How you get to me

I never learned
How I should choose
With situation's
Often used in love
And all its masquerading ways
I'm living off
My second chance
And finding out
There's no romance
Around the world
With eighty ways
To chip away
It's so hard each day

Well you come over late
With your hands on your face
I love to hear you tell
All your stories
How you need me so much
Yet you're cold to the touch
You got me up down
Coming and going
Yeah yeah

9 - Let Him Run

Strap on your safety belt
Blazing in the sky
Thinking of nothing
No disguise
What happened to the one
The one you thought you knew
Did he just take away
What is missing in you

Let him run
Till he sees what he has done
Let him go on
Having all his fun
Mmm let him run

Take off your rocket shoes
And the straps from your wings
Wishing for miracles
Hear the young boys sing
What will you say to him
When he's back at your door
Got no time for users
I don't need you anymore

Let him run
Till he sees what he has done
Let him go on
Having all his fun
Let him cry
See the tears fall from his eyes
Let him run
Run run run run run
